Working Conference of the Research Centre for History and Culture (RCHC) successfully held

On May 21, 2021, members of the Research Centre for History and Culture (RCHC) gathered at UIC (AD602-R19 Meeting Room) to discuss the development of the center. The conference was chaired by Prof. Chen Zhi, Director of RCHC. Prof. Carlotta Viti, Prof. Tze-ki Hon, Dr. Shawn Wang, Dr. Chen Haoche, Dr. Julien Cooper, Dr. Chinmay Dharurkar and Dr. Georgiy Grebnyev attended the meeting.


Prof. Carlotta Viti first reported on the latest development of the academic journal: “Old World. Journal of Ancient Africa and Eurasia” (OW) and the Book series “Ancient languages and civilizations” (ALAC). So far, the editorial board of the academic journal "Ancient World: Ancient Africa and Eurasia" has received 13 submissions from scholars from Australia, Russia, Germany, the United States, Singapore and other countries. After completing the peer review process, The first issue of the academic journal will be published by BRILL at the end of this year.

The publication of the series “Ancient languages and civilizations” (ALAC) is also progressing smoothly, and the first volume is expected to be published by the end of 2021.

Members of RCHC also summarized the experience of the first “Asian Conference on the Ancient world” international academic conference held not long ago, and discussed the time and theme of the second international academic conference of the center.
