On October 7, 2023, Ph.D. candidates, Ms. Wu Yingjie from Sun Yat-sen University, and Mr. Charles Howley from UCLA, delivered a cross-perspective academic lecture jointly (recording). They combined the perspectives of Iranian studies and biblical studies to discover hidden historical information in the Book of Esther. The lecturers referred to diverse historical proofs such as artworks, photographic evidence, and archaeological sites to reflect people's lives under the historical context. Most importantly, they analyzed the operation of the Persian court, and inferred the life and professional experience of some Jewish diasporas from the text, providing new ideas and visions for future historical research.

The lecture was well-received by the audience. More than fifty young scholars form China and abroad engaged in the study of ancient history attended the lecture.
